Community Cooking Classes in the Root Kitchen
New for 2019 Root is launching a series of community cooking classes. These hands-on, intimate workshops will be held in the Root training kitchen and are open to the public. Classes will be taught by members of Root’s culinary team in collaboration with local vendors and will cover a variety of topics from bread making to seasonal wine pairing to cheese tasting and more. Let us know if there is something you are interested in! Spots are first come, first served, and registration fees include instruction and materials. Age restrictions may apply to certain courses.

Join Root Chef Sam Hunt and the team from PSP Imports for this two-hour class featuring seasonal cooking techniques and how to incorporate wines in your sauces to help enhance flavors. Enjoy some of your creations while the team from PSP showcases some of their spring collection and demonstrates how to properly open, pour and pair wines with your holiday meal. Class fee of $75 includes instruction, materials, recipes and light fare.
Wednesday, March 27, 6:30 pm, Bread and Beer, the Power of Yeast!
Join Root Chef Sam Hunt for a two-hour workshop on bread making and fermentation. Participants will meet in the Root kitchen and spend the first part of this hands-on class making a variety of doughs to take home, including brioche and pretzel dough, as well as baguettes to enjoy that evening. After baking, we will head across the street to Notch brewing to enjoy handcrafted sandwiches on our freshly baked baguettes along with a fermented (or not) beverage of your choice.
