Olly - Root Community Kitchen Team Member

Olly graduated from Root in January 2021 and is a current member of Root's Community Kitchen Team, supporting Root's retail catering and community meal initiatives. Each week they prepare over 700 community meals for individuals across the North Shore!

In addition to the kitchen skills, Olly said some of the most beneficial parts of Root's culinary training program were the finance classes. She did not have the opportunity to learn that in high school, and she now feels more confident and comfortable managing money.

Olly's favorite thing about working on the Community Kitchen team is helping others; she feels good that her work is helping people in need. Aside from cooking, Olly loves art. When she's at home, her favorite dish to make is mac and cheese!
