Connor - Line cook at Longboards
Connor graduated from Root in 2019 and immediately started a part-time job in the dish pit at Longboards Restaurant & Bar also worked part-time for Root's catering team. After a few months, he moved up to prep cook and then to the production line at Longboards.
When the pandemic hit and restaurants closed, he was one of the first Root alumni to return to the kitchen to help produce emergency meals.
Today, Connor is back at Longboards, and he loves being a part of their team. In addition to his responsibilities as a line cook, Connor does "Back of House" training for new employees (including one or two Root alumni!) Connor credits Root with preparing him with the right skills to land his first job and keep it (through today!) He was proud to share he recently purchased a car, and his goal is to buy a home for his growing family.
