Spiced Ginger Mule - Rooted in Community Spice Blend Recipe
This sweet and savory spice blend featured in this dish was developed by Root’s kitchen team and featured in dishes at a few of the tasting tables at this year’s Rooted in Community event. The versatile blend works well on roasted veggies, pairs well with chicken or pork, and makes a festive rim for a fall cocktail. Here are a few recipes from the Root kitchen, but if you find new ways to use the blend, we’d love to hear what you cook up, too!

Good ginger beer, to taste

Maple Syrup, for rim
Cinnamon stick, lemon juice, and/or apple wedge for garnish

Method of Preparation:
Mise en place: read your recipe, gather all ingredients and tools, measure, then start preparing.
First line a small plate with maple syrup and another plate with root’s spice mix.
Dip the rim of the glass in the syrup, let drip for a second to reduce mess, then dredge dip the rim lightly in root’s spice mix.
Add ice to the glass, leaving room at the top for stirring. Pour the vodka, cider and lemon juice into the glass and stir a few times to mix and blend flavors.
