Holiday Mocktails
Many members of our Root team have held a variety of roles in the hospitality industry prior to coming to Root, from working in kitchens to the front of the house to bar service. Yesterday, our Finance Manager Derek, led the workshop for trainees and shared some of his expertise in front of house, bar, and beverage service. Trainees worked with Derek to make some seasonal mocktail recipes that everyone can enjoy for upcoming holiday gatherings.
Ginger Cranberry Mule
Recipe yield: 1 serving
Tools: cocktail shaker or mason jar with lid, tall glass for serving
Ingredients:
0.5oz Lime Juice
0.5oz Ginger Syrup
1.5oz Cranberry Juice
Club soda
fresh mint (for garnish)
3 fresh cranberries
ice cubes
Combine lime juice, cranberry juice, and ginger syrup in a cocktail shaker or mason jar with a lid, shake well, and strain into a tall glass filled with ice.
Top with club soda and garnish with sprigs of mint and a few cranberries.
Citrus Vanilla Spritz
Recipe yield: 1 serving

Ingredients:
0.5oz Lemon Juice
1.5oz Orange Juice
1oz Vanilla Bean Syrup
Lemon peel
Combine lemon juice, orange juice, and vanilla bean syrup in a cocktail shaker or mason jar with a lid, shake well, and strain into a tall glass filled with ice.
Top with club soda. Express lemon peel and garnish with lemon swath.
